USB ports on laptop computers
Universal Serial Bus (aka USB) is the VIP of all the ports you may find on your laptop.
It replaces with great success all the other ports you were used to find on your home computer:printer ports, mouse and keyboards, etc.
So, practically speaking this way you can connect USB mouse, keyboards, memory sticks, printers, scanners, external CD/DVD units, etc.
Usually, every laptop has one or two USB ports.
But are these ports enough for your connectivity needs?
Yes, they are! The USB ports are expandable by using USB hubs making possible to connect as many USB devices as you want on USB. Well, not more than 127 at least…
Be sure that the USB of your laptop is 2.0. USB 1.1 , which is an older version, is slower.
However, if you buy an USB 2.0 laptop, all the USB 1.1 external devices that you have will work just fine on your brand new USB 2.0, don't worry!
