If you drop your regular computer it is for sure a way to loose it. Right? Don't ever forget it in the back of your Land Rover while driving and don't forget it there during those long nights. Well, that if you don't own a rugged laptop.

Rugged laptops solved all those things plus many more other problems. Rugged laptops are strong, hard to break. But everything comes with a price. The price is on one side related to the money you pay for buying a rugged laptop. Rugged laptops don't come cheap, you know? Comparing to a regular laptop, a rugged one needs more expensive parts and a more complex assembling process in order to overcome those difficult conditions that made rugged laptops famous.

Also, money are not the only issue when it comes to rugged laptops. No, it is also about features. Rugged laptops don't have the same capabilities like regular ones. They come with less powerful processors, smaller displays, etc. But come with stronger cases, well sealed so water or dust won't come inside.

Some parts inside rugged laptops were replaced, engineers found other solutions, for example, rotating parts, such as spinning plates hard disks that were replaced by solid state disks in most rugged laptops.

The case of rugged laptops is usually made of high-impact plastic or magnesium-alloy. Bumps made of plastic or rubber are attached to the case in the corners to stop the rugged laptop hit the case when hit.
