On a website, people searches for good, valuable information
I was thinking the other day about a thing or two related to websites. I mean you build your website and you focus very much on ranking well on search engines for some specific keywords in your niche, for ex rugged laptops, like I am trying to do here, you focus on bringing as many visitors on my sites, visitors interested in rugged laptops, as targeted as possible, you build links related to rugged laptops, etc.
OK, but what is the final target? People! People are the final target! You build your site for people. People interested in rugged laptops, for ex. These people need to find your website useful, to read real information about rugged laptops, about what they are interested. These people have a high interest in rugged laptops, right? Because rugged notebooks, computers, etc, are a specific niche, so if somebody enters our site is probably very interested in this niche.
But if that person entering my site will not find good, valuable information related to rugged laptops and notebooks, will leave and will never tell anybody else about my site, while if he finds good information, he will tell other people interested in this. It goes viral and viral marketing is one of the best marketing strategy. You don't work that much for spreading viral information, while your users do. They will spread it. In this business of rugged notebooks, the viral information is the site itself, some tech person entering your site and finding good information, will probably like to tell to some coworkers about what he found. That is only applicable when the information on your website is good.
Nobody will promote rubbish sites, nobody will tell about such a website to his or her friends, so one of the most important things we should all consider when building a website is to build the website for people, not for search engines and spiders. That is what I am trying to do here with this rugged laptops site...
