GETAC P470 Rugged Notebook PC announced today, May 14

Today, GETAC announced today, May 14, during Government Technology Conference-West (GTC West) show the new P470 Rugged Notebook PC.

GETAC P470 rugged notebook comes to join a full collection of semi-rugged, rugged and fully rugged notebooks that GETAC provides for those of us needing IT support in difficult conditions.

GETAC P470 rugged notebook is designed after its fully rugged predecessor A790, but is targetted at people needing a much more light weighted laptop that is at the same time rugged, smart and, very important, easy to carry, since you will not spend much time in the office.

GETAC P470 has a 14.1 inch XGA LCD, with optional touch-screen display or light-readable display, a 80 GB hdd, expandable at 160GB, a magnesium alloy case shock resistant, an Intel(R) Centrino(R) Core(TM) Duo T2400 1.83 Ghz processor with 2 MB L2 cache and 512 MB expandable DRAM.

GETAC P470 also has some particular features, such as rear battery pack that can be removed for allowing extra modules to be attached, for providing extra connectivity through USB, serial or paraller port.
