About Dell expanding the Ultramobile serie With Latitude D430
I was reading these days an article in eWeek.com about Dell expanding the line of Ultramobile computers. The article was mainly about Dell Latitude D430 as a competitor for Fujitsu, Samsung and Gateway's computers.

The new Dell Latitude D430
When Dell announced the new D430, they also announced that the laptop will feature a 32GB SSD, as an option. Dell seems to really push SSDs by adding them on Dell laptops, on D420, on Precision M430 and on semi-rugged Latitude D620 ATG laptop.
As eWeek says, seems that ultramobile devices increased 28 percent in the second quarter of 2007, comparing to the same period of last year. This is a good information, it is a good trend.
Coming back to Dell D430, it will feature Core 2 Duo processors. They offer both the Core 2 Duo U7600 and U7500, which have been designed with a TDP (thermal design power) of 10 watts. TDP is an Intel term that refers to how much heat a chip has to dissipate.
Also 533MHz FSB, 2 MB of Level 2 cache. The U7600 runs at 1.2GHz; the U7500's clock speed is 1.06GHz. Customers also have the option of the Core Solo U1400, which runs at 1.2GHz.
On the other hand, D430 seems to be one of the lightest models of Dell, weighting 3 pounds only, has a 12.1 inch display and max. 2 GB RAM and 80 GB HDD.
The price of the new Dell Latitude D430 is $1,509.
