rugged notebooks,rugged laptops

About cheap laptops, just a few words

I have always asked myself if cheap laptops will become a trend or not, because I keep looking at the car market and I see how people look less and less at features and more and more at how much it costs, thus a cheap laptop may be very successful for common users that a full feature one that comes at an expensive price.

Gamers are out of the questions here since they really need powerful laptops so money is no problem there, or at least they should not think about money if they want a powerful computer, they don’t need cheap laptops but powerful ones.

But these days I have come to the conclusion that people need more and more laptops that perform day to day duties like reading emails, writing documents, browsing the internet, not expensive do it all computers since regular users are not computer savvies but plain users.

How much is actually too much for a low cost notebook? Will you say that $700 is OK? Well, if we consider the fact that ASUS releases the $499 laptop, then $700 is too much right? $499 is OK now, which means a cheap laptop indeed.

Will a cheap laptop do the job?

So will actually these notebooks do the job? Will they be able to perform right? I guess yes, if you think for a moment, you are able to do whatever a regular user can do. You can not play the latest game in the industry probably, but you will be able to read a document, to edit it, to read your mail, to sent mails, to browse the internet and every other regular task.

Trust me, in most of the situations, this is what you actually need. I have seen people asking for more than they need a million times. They require a powerful laptop that they will never actually use and they end up spending money for features that they never ever use. It is actually quite a shame, since the manufacturers invested money and time in producing that laptop in order to stay on somebody’s desk, where the laptop will only read mails, tasks that any cheap laptop will do just fine! Thank about it!
