Ok, this is one of those posts about stupid items. I can not even tell if it is a joke or it is real, I mean as a funny item. Read for yourself here and think for yourself. If this device really exists then it is kind of the same family with USB heated gloves or socks or other such items. If you also consider the USB thumb Flash disk then we may have a strange family of gadget designers.

I can not even imagine why designing this. I know, I know, for fun. Yes, but how many people will buy it. Or you will just spend money designing it without selling it? I don’t know, it sounds strange to me…

Will all laptops become rugged laptops?

I can not stop asking myself if rugged laptops will ever become a habit, an usual item of a regular person. Actually at this point, rugged laptops are a special kind of laptops, the industrial line that withstand what others can’t. please notice I said can’t, not won’t or my not stand or whatever form you would like. Can’t, period. Rugged laptops are strong. That is what makes them stand out of the crown. However, I can not stop asking if after 10 years will still have this difference.

Did you ever think about this? Maybe all notebooks will be rugged. Or maybe people won’t even talk about tugged laptops because all laptops will be able to survive falls or water spill or crashes and bumps…Or maybe not.

Will rugged laptops be even stronger? This is more likely

Maybe that all the laptops will be able to withstand these kind of stress factors but maybe new ones will appear and there will still be a category of rugged laptops that will do more than the current ones do. Actually, if I think about it, it it more likely to be like this. Because there is no such thing as the absolute best. Every thing has a thing above it. So, no matter how strong laptops will become, there will be some stronger than regular ones that will be called rugged laptops.

It would be interesting to know what could they take. Driving over with a tank? Withstanding falls from 20 m? Acid? Crashes under a power press or what? Let’s just wait and see.

Today was one of those days where when things go wrong, well, they all go wrong. It happened because of me and my proverbial lack of time, but I got to a point where this domain name had only one day before expiring. So I have decided that I should pay it right about…today!

So I took the invoice and went to the bank, this is how I should pay it. Electronic payment is not a habit here. Anyway. When going to the bank the lady there, who is already an acquaintance to me said..nope, sorry, you need an other kind of invoice, more “business like”. Lady, I say, I don’t have any other invoice but this (type) I am using for 5 years now. Nope, ask an other one. I can not ask an other one since the guys at the hosting company provide this kind of invoices and I have always payed it like this. Nope, she said.

Do you have an other office of your bank close? There. Ok, I go there. Well, “there” everything went smoothly, only that lady at the previous office was against the procedure. She made me go nut, I was driving to the second office in a hurry, I have almost hit an other car, I got mad at him cause he was where he should not be, and after that I realize I knew the guy so I felt sorry for getting mad at him.

After coming back to the office I phoned him to tell him I am sorry for..see above. Whatever. It was stupid of me.

This post has nothing to do with rugged laptops, not with laptops in a general way. I only wanted to write this cause I felt very frustrated and stressed today. That is all, folks, I will go home now…
